S13 Day 14 - Sorrowful Mysteries in Petition
Hello family, and welcome to day 14 of our 54-Day Rosary Novena. I’m your host, Maritza Mendez, thank you for being here with us today, and a very warm welcome to everyone who is joining for the first time.
Family, every time you return to prayer, you’re reminding your soul that it belongs to God, not to fear, not to temptation, not to the noise of the world. And that’s exactly what this novena is about: coming back, again and again, to His grace.
This season, we continue praying for peace in the world, and for freedom from addictions, for those who are struggling right now, for those in recovery, and for the families and friends walking beside them in love and faith.
We’re also praying for the intentions you carry in your heart. If you’d like us to pray for you by name, please visit our website at 54daysofroses.com to submit your prayer requests.
Today, let’s talk about something very real: triggers and temptation.
Every one of us has moments that stir up our weakness,
certain memories, emotions, or even people that remind us of old habits or wounds. Sometimes, we think temptation just appears out of nowhere, but in reality, it often begins with a small moment, a feeling of stress, loneliness, fear, or pride.
Understanding our triggers doesn’t mean we’re weak. It means we’re becoming aware of what draws us away from peace, and learning how to bring those moments to God instead of trying to face them alone.
The enemy wants us to hide from our struggles. But grace invites us to name them. Because when we name them, we can surrender them, and that’s when healing begins.
When temptation comes, remember this: you don’t have to fight it alone. Call on Jesus. Pray a Hail Mary. Hold your Rosary. Even just saying “Jesus, help me” is enough to shift your focus from the temptation to His presence.
Our Blessed Mother will always lead you away from what destroys your peace and back toward what heals your soul.
Our prayer for today: Jesus, help me recognize what triggers my weakness. And when temptation comes, remind me that You are stronger. Mary, protect my mind, my heart, and my peace.
If you are keeping up with your journal, take a moment to write this down: What triggers cause me to lose my peace, and how can I invite God into those moments instead of giving in to them?
Blessed Mother, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, today we lift up every person struggling to resist temptation and to stay faithful in their healing journey.
We pray for peace in the world, for those recovering from addiction, and for everyone seeking freedom, renewal, and trust in God’s mercy.
